Dr. Pete Nominated for 2 SEMMYs
Despite my usability focus, some of you know that I spend a lot of time in search engine marketing (SEM) circles. In the last couple of years, I've come to realize that search is a fundamental part of the user experience. To put it simply: you can't tell where your users are going if you don't know where they've been.I was extremely surprised and gratified to learn that I had been nominated for 2 SEMMYs, the search marketing industry's annual blogging awards, for articles I wrote in 2008. Many thanks to those who nominated the articles. I'm especially proud of the nomination in the "Industry" category, a recent post from this blog on how search is changing. The other post was a more technical guest-post on one of my favorite haunts, SEOmoz, about how to dive deep into Google's index data.

· Monday, January 26Pete, I'm so glad that I followed up on my task list to read the rest of the Semmys articles. What's funny, is that since I didn't see "Dr. Pete" as an author, it didn't "click" until I clicked through to your Search without SERPs award-nominated post! Heck, I totally missed the SEOmoz guest post! More to read now...
I have learned so much from your insights. You deserve the accolades and continue to demonstrate thought leadership in the community!
Next time I see you, I'll be asking for an autograph rather than a ride! :-)
Congrats!
Dr. Pete
· Monday, January 26Thanks, everyone - I really appreciate the kind words.
@Dana: I don't know... so far, rides from the airport have been a lot more lucrative for me than autographs ;)
