The Future of Personalization
One of the areas that is going to have a major impact on both usability and online marketing in the near future is personalization. The more that resources and campaigns can be targeted to individuals and their interests, the more useful those resources will be, at least in theory.Want to see a glimpse of that future? My friend Sean over at The Savvy Life turned me on to this amazing campaign for a new show on AMC. It's a video that seamlessly incorporates a few pieces of information about the recipient. I could try to explain, but you have to watch it for the full effect:
Dr. Pete
· Monday, January 21Yeah, I realized after the fact that he didn't do the name like he did in yours. Even having some vague idea how this is done, the seamlessness was incredible. The different plug-in elements meshed completely. Even having filled out the form and knowing that I gave them the info, it was still eerie to watch the first time.

The amount of time it took to make this had to be incredible - and I'm just talking about all the 'canned' elements - him saying names, ages, states, etc.
